BATTLE SCARS

From the second I was born
I was in the firing line.

Amidst those battle worn
I have grown just fine.

I have been in many wars
And I wear my battle scars.

No time for peace that we all crave
Not until we’ve reached the grave.

Soldiers, we are all
From birth until the final call.

This battlefield is mired within
Some wars are never seen.

I have been in many wars
And I proudly wear my battle scars.
